The MultiPlan discount program applies to everyone covered under the Student Health Insurance Plan

MultiPlan is a discount program for services provided by a nation-wide network of hospitals and physicians.  If treatment is received at a MultiPlan network provider, the out of pocket cost to the insured can be greatly reduced.  For services covered under the Student Health Insurance plan, the discount is subtracted directly from the original charged amount.

Students may go here to determine if a specific hospital or doctor is a MultiPlan provider.  Locally, Carle Clinic, Carle Foundation Hospital, Christie Clinic and Provena Hospital are currently contracted with MultiPlan. 

While students can access a listing of MultiPlan providers, the Student Health Insurance office also processes each and every claim by checking to see if a MultiPlan discount can be given.  Students are not penalized if they do not use a MultiPlan provider.  Benefits listed in policy booklet do not change, the student simply does not get the discount.
